Does anyone know if women start to age really fast after they hit 40? I've read that people don't really start to show the signs of aging until the 40's does this mean when you hit 40 you'll notice the aging process comes quick. Does anyone know anyone or experience would be helpful.
thanks Helen H replied: "I'd think you would age about a year... every year... even after 40. As far as looks are concerned, you should be fine as long as you take care of yourself."
Coco loco replied: "nope my father is in his 70s and he still does EVERYTHING he did when he was 20... in fact he's out tonight 11:00 pm friday night playing poker.lol but he does take care of himself and so should all of you regardless of age." Whos the smallest player to ever hit 40 homeruns in a season? I cant remember anyone under 200 pounds doing it. Are their any.
duh im an idiot soriano. Anyone smaller than him do it? shintalka replied: "Im not sure the smallest but Alfonso Soriano is under 200 pounds."

samdugan replied: "eleven" Should I overpay to acquire Josh Hamilton? Scouts say hes going to break out and hit 40+ home runs in 2008? I already offered Vernon wells and was rejected, should I offer Mags, who's 34, injury prone, (or he can put up monster numbers again) or is that crazy? Mikey replied: "Vernon Wells was rejected based on last year's stats. He didn't even come close to putting up the numbers that we expect out of him, so until he proves he still has it, then people will not touch him. I would not give up Mags, that is overpaying with overprojection. Mags has proven what he can do...with over 200 hits last season at age 34, remained healthy, had around 80 strikeouts but thats with almost 600 AB's, and he batted .363. Hamilton struck out almost as much as Mags and played half as many games, was hurt off and on when he got in and could possibly hit 30 HR's but I think 40 is a little far fetched and overly speculative. If you do not have anyone else except Mags, then you will have to pass on Hamilton, he will not pay off for you like Mags will. RR"
rayquaza73 replied: "hamilton is just as injury prone as anyone else. hamilton could break out and i thought the same thing you did. maggs will put up good numbers; not as good as last year but good numbers. wells will do the same thing; hamilton has had drug-abuse problems and is injury prone. dont offer maggs; he is much better."
viphockey4 replied: "Easy answer here...insanely crazy! Mags had some injury issues, not a problem the last 2 seasons and puts up elite fantasy numbers. hamilton in case you havent been paying attention suffered from injury issues a couple times last year and given the lifestyle he chose may end up being an injury risk every year. If injuries are the reason you would move Mags (seems crazy to me) I cant imagine why you would deal away that for "potential" especially for an unproven with an injury history himself. Dont get me wrong, Hamilton may be a breakout star but he also isnt hitting in the middle of the Tiger order either. I wouldnt get crazy over hamilton, again look at last season and see how many games he missed due to injury. He could be a solid 3rd or 4th outfielder but there are plenty of others out there who could be every bit as good. And besides i promise you that nearly every league would be incredibly quick to veto such a lopsided offer."
tr4nsist0r replied: "Josh Hamilton couldn't hit 40 HR if he took HGH. Dealing Magglio for him would be foolish. The numbers Mags would put up during the games he's not hurt will surpass Hamilton." Men, when you hit 40, did you start thinking about younger women? younger as in in their 20's. Susan S replied: "Yikes! I hope not..."
Joe S replied: "I've never stopped. But that doesn't mean that I actually do anything that I'd regret."
a_niceguy_in_virginia replied: "Yes.
Actually to be precise it didn't "start" when I hit 40, it began long ago.
"thinking about" doesn't necessarily mean doing anything about it, of course."
The Casual Poster replied: "I'm not quite 40 yet but NO! Hot women come in all ages....some of the hottest women at my office building are in their late 30s-early 40s! As long as they keep that body tight, it's all good!"
Latin G replied: "age doesn't matter... always thinking about younger women..."
Racin replied: "No... I was doing that at 16. I remember I liked 15 and 16 yr olds when I was 15 and 16. Now I have moved up to 18 and above. I even like some of the 55 year women. My age had nothing to do with. Women are just a work of art and I like looking and day dreaming. Nothing wrong with that is there?"
john replied: "The only difference is not only am I thinking about women in their 20's I am also thinking about then in their 30's and 40's"
BabeHeart replied: "I'm 43 and the men I date/see don't seem to be spending a lot of time thinking of 20-somethings. Lucky me. ☺♥☻"
boojumuk replied: "I started thinking about young women at puberty. I still do it and I'm a long way past 40."
islecya replied: "When I hit 40,I look at all ages from 24 to 55.. No age discrimination here. BTW I am older than 40 now."
cfb193 replied: "I am 60 and still do."
Bogie replied: "my wife is 10 years younger than me, so no problem. i actually used to go for the younger ones, but i appreciate a woman in her 30's now more than ever, so no would be the answer"
SeattleFan replied: "I think while ALL guys do when you hit 40, most get interested earlier than that, probably right after they leave that "ideal" age bracket of 18-25. Younger girls offer a lot to men, and older men to younger girls (I'm talking decently younger, nothing sick). To a younger girl, odds are men her age are more like boys, do stupid obnoxious crap that only the dumbest women their age like, are financially insecure, and haven't learned much, so can't offer much help/input. For an older guy, younger girls, besides the obvious physical advantage, are more active, bring a spark to someone maybe stuck in a rut, inspire them, and most important for a guy in his early 30's: they have WAY LESS baggage. They don't have a bizarre set of expectations, still don't hate men for what they've done to them, and so on. So there are quite a few reasons for both. For the record, I'm 34, my girlfriend's 24, been together for two years."
Valerie X Account #14 replied: "I don't think these dopes answering realize they have to compete with the YOUNGER HOTTER GUYS for these women.
Such a shame!"
Quagmire replied: "not necessarily. Cougars and soccer moms need love too" How much weight on average will a person put on as they hit middle age?(40)? I am going to hit 40, and have noticed I have out on weight.
I used to weigh 9 1/2 stone, like for ever, but after 3 kids and getting older I have crept up almost a couple of stones. Is this just because I am getting middle age spread!?
Or can I lose the weight, and maintain it?
Thanks X httnmrtt replied: "I'm 54 and weigh the same as when I finished basic training in the military 36 years ago. Children ma cause a bit of a weight gain, but I don't believe people get fat because they get old. They get fat because they pick up bad habits and stop doing physical exercise."
CRISPY replied: "I am 40 and I weigh over 33 stone ... it happens"
cheeky replied: "I haven't put on any weight at all,(doesn't that make you feel good) so just keep an eye on what you eat,eg don't eat fish fingers and chips with the kids!! and do a little exercise (well you obviously do,how else do you end up with three kids)ha ha.
It's not hard mate.
Cheeky.............."
ANF replied: "Probably due to being less active than you were when younger. Also you are probably eating calorie laden foods. I bet you have regular chocolate, biscuits and cake. Cut out anything with sugar in it, cut out all processed foods, eat half fat cheese, lay off the spirits, drink less wine and eat only fresh fruit and veg with your meals. Do these things and you will lose weight and not feel hungry all the time. Walk at least 1 mile a day or 3 miles every other day. Regular exercise keeps you in trim, and helps your body to dispose of toxins and calories. Best of luck."
mrs.efron replied: "u can lose weight at the age of 40...its not impossible though it may be a bit harder after 3 kids. don't listen too that old fatto crispy. it doesn't just happen. he is just saying that. don't worry!"
Without-style replied: "There isn’t an age that once you pass it you automatically put weight on.
What happens as we get older our metabolism slows down, thus making it harder to burn calories you could say five, ten years ago, causing you to put on weight unless you are active, if you’re not it will become easier for you to put on weight.
Nobody needs to restrict what they eat, just eat moderately, exercise a bit more, and you should find you either lose weight or set into maintaining the weight you have, just as you was previously."
susie03 replied: "The weight gain will be linked to life-style not your age. You will be able to lose the weight but do it gradually and just set a maintainable eating and exercise plan that you can fit in with your life and stick with it. Not a diet, a permanent change. If your natural weight was always 91/2 stone then it still is and you'll get back to it." Why do people who hit 40 always say that their 20's were the worst? I've seen many interviews where women and men who are mature in their 40's and 50's always state that when they where in their 20's they hated it that they just didn't know who they are...I'm only 22 (so I can't relate not yet) is it true does life become more pleasant and enjoyable as you age? Bateman replied: "I hate older people. They're all liars."
stacy200178640 replied: "I think this is a case of not knowing what you don't know, which is just fine and normal at any age. Remember when you were a kid and you thought you knew everything? And then as a teen you thought you knew everything? And now that you're 22 you realize how much you DIDN'T know when you were 15. That just on happening! But no worries--it's how it's supposed to be! I'd say enjoy the now, make the best decisions you can with the experience you have.
I believe the feeling that those in their 30s and 40s have that this is the best stage (I'm late 30s) comes from fewer "roller coaster" moments. You've experienced enough ups and downs to know that the downs probably won't kill you, that the ups will come again, and to have learned how to manage your life/emotions without the huge ups and downs. That is pretty freeing!"
Pass it on... replied: "My 20s were some of the best times of my life (I'm 50 now)...but also some of the most confusing...because I didn't know how to channel all of the energy, information, experiences and feelings that were coming at me so quickly. The thing about being older and more mature, is that you learn to let things flow 'through' you instead of grabbing hold of it and then, feeling like you have to either give it away again, stuff it somewhere inside...or deny it exists...and that goes for both the good AND the bad stuff. You learn to focus less on what you have, what you want and what you might lose (or have lost)...and more on what and who's left over at the end of the day."
Fauz replied: "I back SMT's comments on this.
I'm only 34, so I haven't hit the 40 mark yet to determine whether or not I'm going to see my 20s as the worst, but I do predict that I will for the following reasons.
Before one hits their 20s, they are more likely to still be living at home with parents, not paying any bills and going to school. Life seemed hard, but in retrospect, it was quite easy. Then college and university comes along, or for some, straight into the real world, and that was a horrendous learning curve.
At this point, we should realize that we don't know as much as we think we know. "Should", meaning some will admit their ignorance, most will not. Add on top of that lack of life experience, lack of wisdom, and for some sheer lack of intellect, and you're not getting the full bang for your buck.
At 30, you can wear a shirt that says, "The 20s, been there, done that..." You've matured, learned a lot, can use your 20s as real life experience, where as when you were 20, looking back on your teens wasn't going to provide you with much insight.
Looking back on your 20s, you likely realize that there were decisions you made, that still affect you in your 40s, and you now wish, that you would have had the wisdom and maturity to have made that critical decision which could have made your life now a whole lot easier. I'm 34, and I already think this way.
Your peers in your 20s are generally immature too. I mean relative to when they are in their 30s and 40s. So you'll find that deal with people is easier because they are more mature for the most part, and you have more experience and wisdom dealing with people as well.
Each person likely has their own reasons, many which I didn't even touch upon in this post, but I was getting long. Things get better as you age, as you focus on real priorities, and not superficial or childish ones. You get a better grip on life and its meaning."
pagan grlzz replied: "OK, I'm turning 40 next Thursday. So I think I can answer this one as a qualified person.
1st-It's not really that common for someone in their 20's to "know themselves".Usually that takes a few more years. and sometimes , some people never know who they are. Some people just go through life being what they think others want them to be.
2nd- NO...you don't just magically turn 40 and boom, you're peaceful and happy. There is no magic number and if someone says there is, they lie.
3rd- Life is what YOU make out of it, if you want to be happy, you can work towards that goal. If you are a jerk, then it will take some time to get a grip and grow up.
4th - your twenties are full of alot of worries and problem solving for most people. their mind is swamped, with finding the right job, or right person, right location, paying off college etc... it isn't until you settle into your life that you stop to think about what really matters to you instead of what matters to those around you. I'm not saying that people in their twenties aren't searching for enlightenment or self awareness, its, just that security is their first priority."
Pink replied: "I agree with Fauz about you not only being immature but you are dealing with other people in their 20's who are sometimes very hard to understand why they are doing what they are doing. You probably don't realize this though. Later, I am in my fifties, you know yourself better and your limitations with people, you know what you will put up with and what you won't
and if somebody acts stupid or just plain crazy you will deal with them in a more rational way, like getting them out of your life or letting them be."
Blood Makes Noise replied: "maybe the ones surveyed had kids when they were in their 20's...lol....muhawawaha!" Is it too much to expect Derick Lee to hit 40 HRs? I think he will come back strong this year, 2 years removed from his broken wrist. This is also the possibility that I am insane. So, which is it? Joel D replied: "I'd say yes. Lee's got to slow down at some time."
Mikey replied: "Probably so, at this point fantasy owners would be happy with 30, so 40 is a little far-fetched with his recent injuries and aging body. But he may surprise us all, but I don't think so. RR"
Windy City Flyer replied: "No, not really. He is in an incredible lineup that just added Fukudome for even more depth. Now you can't really pitch around anyone in the top 5 spots in the order because you got someone behind them who's a threat as well.
Lee should see some nice pitchers, as should everyone else in the lineup. He has the power, but lately he's been the guy that hits in the gaps rather than over the fence. 40 is possible, but I think he'll only get around 30. Lee hits for average, not power.
If anyone were to reach 40, it'd be Aramis Ramirez. Now he is the power hitter type on that team. Soriano already has gotten 40 in his career, but now that he's leadoff that won't happen again. My bet is Ramirez gets 38, Soriano gets 32, Lee gets 27."
Miguel G replied: "I dont think so, i mean hes done it be fore hasnt he?"
The Enforcer replied: "Yes. The guy hit over 40 homerun once in his career during a year in which he caught fire early.
His broken wrist has effected his power numbers to some degree. Last year he played in 150 games and hit 22 hr's.
At maximum he's good for 28 to 33 homeruns this year."
Yankees fan replied: "Yes. Even thirty is a stretch."
The Meditations of Me replied: "I do'nt think he will hit 40 but that does'nt mean he won't put up great numbers."
bailey replied: "Of course HE WILL! Go CUBS!!!!" I put bigger tires on my 2005 Toyota Tacoma but then i hit 40-60 mph and my steering wheel starts to shake? my steereing shakes for 10 seconds then stops then comes back......what should i do ? has anyone experienced this problem before? harryb replied: "Did you balance those new tires?"
Anatoliy S replied: "check tire pressure it should be equal in all wheels, if that does't help call to technical station"
caleet replied: "Need to have them balanced. Also check your alignment."
badbill1941 replied: "Thats why they put on the wheels and tires that they do when a vehicle is built."
Alice M replied: "check tyers for bubbles or wheel balance"
MIRKO G replied: "check that they're inflated correctly, also check that they're in balance, one more thing if they're off road tyres you may be excceding the speed limits.Good luck."
sidecar0 replied: "Measure tire Height, Balance again - Should take "No More Then" 2 1/2 OZ. Per-Tire, May Need Stabiliser/Shout for Steering "Check with Good 4 Wheeler Shop"."
Keith C replied: "Everyone has already said "get them balanced" the "Correct" answer is "Get a steering stabilizer" Large tires just don't balance properly as there is WAY to much sidewall flex at higher speeds."
"To Infinity And Beyond . . replied: "What is/dose bigger tires mean?
Sounds to me your whole suspention needs maintainess,
Repack front bearrings, check your ball joints , piviot arms and control bushings, balance your tires, and do you even have a steering stablizer?
Or are you just some "kid" who put "bigger tires" on there truck only the wear out your first gear ......Watch"
Please replied: "you need a speed balance"
Reeohas replied: "What are the dimensions of the new tires? Did you install a lift? That would greatly help in answering your question. Probably need a balance and alignment check." |
